Chinese Mythology Inspires Long Mu Fortunes

Online slot games based on cultural myths and legends are always fun to play, and Long Mu Fortunes is a new title in this category which does a great job of bringing to life the Chinese story of Long Mu – a name which literally translates as ‘Mother of Dragons’. Introducing Long Mu

According to tradition, Long Mu was originally known as Wen Shi, and was in the habit of going down to the local river to wash clothes for her family. On one occasion, she took an attractive stone from the river, but that stone turned out to be an egg from which five snakes emerged. Wen Shi hand-reared the snakes, who grew into powerful dragons with the ability to control the weather. During a drought, Wen Shi asked the dragons to bring rain, which they did, and from then on the grateful locals referred to her as the Mother of Dragons, or Long Mu.

Today, Long Mu is revered as a deity, and the story of her hand-rearing her ‘dragon children’ is viewed as one which teaches the value and importance of parental love.

Step Back in Time…

Long Mu Fortunes is a five-reel slot which allows you to step back in time to experience key aspects of this classical Chinese myth whilst having a go at winning a jackpot of 5,000 times your bet. The audio and visuals in this game are incredible, with multiple animations (such a flying dragons and fireworks) and a traditional soundtrack creating a rich and immersive environment that is hard to fault.

This game has ten pay lines, and is presented against a nice Asian landscape. The graphics have the style of a mature comic book, and symbols on the reels include the playing card ranks of J, Q, K and A, a traditional drum, a purse, lucky coins, money wallets, a red dragon wild on the second and fourth reels, blue, green and gold dragon multiplier wilds (worth x1, x2 and x3, respectively) and Long Mu herself, who serves as a scatter symbol.

Red Dragon Re-Spins Feature

All of the dragon wild symbols are three cells high, and when the red dragon wild appears in part, it will automatically nudge up or down to completely fill the reel. That will also trigger a respin, with the red dragon being locked in place and all other reels spinning as normal. If a win is achieved then the respin feature will be triggered again.

When the respin feature is active, the blue, green and gold dragon multiplier wilds can appear to increase wins by up to three times. Like the red dragon, these symbols are three cells high, and will nudge up and down so that they occupy their reels fully.

Jackpot Coins Feature

As you play this game, every red dragon which appears will give you coins. These are collected in a pot of coins located above the reels, and every time coins are added you will have the chance of randomly triggering the Jackpot feature. When triggered, this will give you either a Major Jackpot, which is worth 100 times your bet, or the Grand Jackpot, which is worth 5,000 times your bet.

Long Mu Free Spins

The Long Mu scatter symbol appears on the second, third and fourth reels, and when you get three on the reels at the same time you will trigger the Free Spins feature. This will give you an instant ‘entry prize’ worth twice your total bet, and then award you ten free spins. The Re-Spins feature mentioned previously will be available during the Free Spins feature, but here all Multiplier Wilds will be worth x3, making things even more exciting.
