Work Some Magic with the Blue Wizard

Earlier this year, Playtech released the first couple of titles in its innovative Fire Blaze series of games. Those titles were Sky Queen and Pharaoh’s Daughter, and now the company has launched Blue Wizard, which continues the series. Playtech has also announced that another two Fire Blaze games will be released in September – Tsai Shen’s Gift and Eternal Lady – so this is obviously a series which is doing well and should continue to grow in popularity as time goes on.

About the Fire Blaze Series

The Fire Blaze Series is distinguished by its focus on ancient cultures, mysticism and the supernatural, as well as each game in the series offering a unique second feature which isn’t shared by the others. As James Frendo, who is Casino Director at Playtech explained some months ago:

Enter the Blue Wizard

Blue Wizard has five reels and thirty pay lines, and takes place outside his cottage home in the middle of a secluded forest. The background is very well illustrated, depicting the wizard’s home at night, and the symbols used in the game are equally appealing. Those symbols include the playing card ranks of 10, J, Q, K and A, a magical ring, a book of spells, a cauldron, an owl, a crystal ball, a castle scatter and the blue wizard himself, who serves as a wild.

Graphics are suitably magical in this game, and the musical content is reminiscent of the soundtracks used in countless movies about wizardly happenings, with an almost Disneyesque feel from time to time. The overall effect is perfectly enjoyable, although it must be said that the audio does come across as being rather generic at times.

Free Games Feature

A Free Games feature will be triggered whenever you get three or more scatter symbols on the reels. This will give you six free games, and for the duration of this round all of the blue wizard wild symbols will be presented with a multiplier value that can increase your winnings by 2, 4, 8 or 16 times. As if that wasn’t enough to make this part of the game exciting, the free spins can be retriggered, extending the action even further.

Fire Blaze Respin

When you get six or more crystal balls on the reels you will trigger a Fire Blaze Respin feature. This will give you three respins and all crystal balls will be locked in place before they begin. The aim here is to land more crystal balls, and if you succeed then your three respins will start over again, with the additional crystal balls also being locked. This makes it possible to get plenty of the symbols on the reels, and with each crystal ball having a cash value that can be as much as 50 times your stake (or a star symbol, as we will explain shortly) that can lead to some extremely magical payouts. In fact, if you manage to get a screen full of crystal balls you will land the biggest jackpot of all.

Fire Blaze Jackpot

Because this is a Fire Blaze game, Blue Wizard offers four Fire Blaze jackpots, which are known as the Mini, Minor, Major and Grand jackpots. Those jackpots are worth 20, 100, 500 or 2,000 times your stake, respectively, so there is plenty to play for.

Winning a Fire Blaze jackpot can be achieved through the Fire Blaze Respin feature mentioned previously. When you get a crystal ball with a star on it then that star will reveal a rotating drum showing the names of all four jackpots. The drum will spin and the jackpot which shows when it stops spinning is the one you will win. Of course, if you have all the reels full of crystal balls then the Grand jackpot will be landed without any further ado.
